- Adopters must be 18 years old or have a parent co-sign
- If the adopter rents where they live, they must have paid all of the required deposits in full and signed all of the appropriate paperwork with their landlord before any animal is allowed to go home with them
- Anyone living with a parent or other must have the homeowner co-sign for the animal
- We require that our cats be indoor pets with the ability to go outside. What that means to us is that our cats will be treated like a member of the family and will be inside when it is not safe or comfortable to be outside
- We require that any cat that is not altered at the time of adoption be altered on or before a specified date
- We require that you sign an adoption contract which stipulates that the adopter promises to take good care of their pet for the rest of it’s life, or bring the animal back to us if they can no longer care for it
- We have an ā€Elder Care” program for any of our pets that are 10 years of age or older. The requirements for an elder cat are the same as with any adoption, except the cat is considered to be in permanent foster care. The cat still legally belongs to PAWS and PAWS will be available to make medical decisions and pay for any medical care the cat should need. There is no ā€adoption” fee for an elder cat.
- The most important thing to us is that our cats get a good home where they will be treated like one of the family
